This four-meter-high- and over fifty-meter-long metal construction was erected in 2009 directly next to the Austrian border crossing between Fratres, Lower Austria, and Slavonice in the Czech Republic. It serves as a display for an inscription and images while at the same time alluding to governmental and private strategies of demarcation. The discourse about the reerecting of Europe's interior borders, which had only recently been taken down, and about keeping out refugees have made this work highly topical in recent years.
