Kein Anšluss unter dieser Nummer! – Slovenian Cultural Club Rož
Lacquered metal sheep and sound installation, 2:38 min., 2018
In 1938, around 3,200 people living in St. Jacob/Šentjakob v Rožu were pseudo-scientifically “racially ” classified. This installation by a Carinthian-Slovene Cultural Club alludes to the marks included in the documentation (“+” for “Arian”. “-” for “Slavic”). The artists also reference the village's vote for the so-called “Anschluss”: three “black sheep” = three votes fo “no”.
