The main exhibition “New Ages: Austria since 1918” is fully accessible by wheelchair. All passageways are at least 1 meter wide.
The temporary exhibitions on the Alma Rosé Plateau can be reached by elevator and are accessible by wheelchair.
There is no tactile guidance system in the building.
An accessible toilet (all-gender) is located on the mezzanine next to the lounge, but it does not have an automatic door opener. Staff at the welcome desk can assist if needed.

Accessible Entrance to the Neue Burg Building
Access to the Neue Burg
The entrance is barrier-free via the left ramp.
The right gate can be opened with a Eurokey or via the intercom.
There are a few steps leading to the entrance hall, but a platform lift (capacity: 300 kg) is available. The lift can also be operated with a Eurokey or via the intercom.
The ticket desk of the House of Austrian History can be reached by another lift.
Access to the House of Austrian History (short: hdgö)
The entrance to the Austrian History (short: hdgö) is on the right side of the entrance hall.
The ticket desk (upper ground floor) is accessible by lift (located to the right in the entrance hall).
The main exhibition (mezzanine) and temporary exhibitions (1st floor) can be reached with the same lift.
A valid ticket with QR code is required to use the lift.

Existing Physical Barriers
To enter the foyer on the mezzanine, two doors must be opened manually (no automatic opener).
Staff are always present at the welcome desk nearby and can assist on request.
Note: Near these doors is the welcome desk in the museum foyer, where a member of the team is always present. They will be happy to assist you in opening the two doors if needed.
