1964: Protest at the Grand Prix Eurovision
In 1964, a man holding a banner stormed the stage of the Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen between two songs. It was a protest against the dictatorships in Spain and Portugal. Given the highly charged nature of this protest, it is all the more remarkable that only part of the television broadcast of this ESC has survived. All that remains of the incident are photographs and the audio track.
