Loans of the hdgö Collection for Exhibitions

Items from the collection of the House of Austrian History (hdgö) can be borrowed for exhibitions. We are happy to assist you in arranging any loans.

Currently, our online catalogue covers a significant part of the objects, yet many remain to be added in the future. However, we are happy to carry out research for specific exhibition projects—please send us the details of your topic. Please direct these and any general enquiries regarding the hdgö collection to sammlung@hdgoe.at

If you already know which objects you wish to borrow, please send your loan requests to registrar@hdgoe.at

Please include the following information:

- Name of the borrowing institution

- List of objects requested for loan from the hdgö collection

- Exhibition title

- Location and dates of the exhibition

- Brief description of the exhibition (4–5 sentences)

The cost of the loan depends on the insured value of the object, transport, the need for a courier to accompany the item, and any costs associated with preparatory conservation work to the object.

Please note that the decision on whether a loan can be granted is based on a number of factors, including conservation, organisational and content-related considerations. Any necessary conservation requirements depend, among other things, on the condition of the object in question and will be determined following receipt of the loan request.
