Moving Museum 2024:
Conversations on Heldenplatz Square

Heldenplatz stands for many things: it is a place of historical significance and remembrance, a place of civil society and demonstrations, a place of everyday life and leisure. The hdgö regularly takes a look at Heldenplatz and its many facets: Here, past and present, social conditions on a large and small scale are condensed.  

The education team from the House of Austrian History will be on hand out on the square on six dates in August and September for the second summer already. They are seeking the conversation, are available for questions and discussion. As a site rich in history, Heldenplatz square itself comes under investigation. The theme of the 2024 mobile exhibition is "Heldenplatz in Action" – a small exhibition about Heldenplatz as a venue for a wide variety of events: from sports to politics, from religion to art.

We want to know from the people passing by what they do at the square, what it means to them and what they would like to see for this place in the future. The results of these conversations will eventually find their way into the collection and into hdgö's ongoing engagement with Heldenplatz Square.
