In 1955, the slogan “Freie Fahrt” (“Green Light”) through Austria expressed the sense of a new beginning following the State Treaty and the end of Allied “occupation”, as well as the technological euphoria of the 1950s. In 1955, the the Arbeiter-Rad-und-Kraftfahrer-Bund Österreichs (ARBÖ), a cycling and automobile association, organised a “non-stop journey” through Austria. With the signing of the State Treaty, it celebrated the idea that you could now drive right across the country without having to stop at the borders between zones. The ARBÖ produced this car badge as a souvenir.
