Karoline Mayer

Since 2024, she has been part of the curatorial team of the House of Austrian History for the preparation of the curatorial program for the new location at Mariahilferstraße 2.

Karoline Mayer studied architecture at the University of East London and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. From 2011 to 2024 she worked at the Architekturzentrum Wien. Among other things, she established the Architektur.Film.Sommer, an annual architecture film festival. As a curator, she was responsible for exhibitions such as “Toourism”, “Land for Us All” and “Form follows Rule”. In her current doctoral studies at the Vienna University of Technology and as leader of various courses, she deals with industrial production in the city. The “Simmering works” festival she developed in 2019, for example, made the industrial heritage of Vienna's Simmering district tangible for a wide audience.
