Articulating Diversity: Focus on Ethnic Groups

Austria is multilingual. Its historical ethnic groups have always shaped the country’s history, yet they rarely make an appearance in its narratives. Together with the six autochthonous ethnic groups, the hdgö has spent a year developing new formats that illustrate Austria’s multilingual and cultural diversity in the museum. This close collaboration has resulted in the Web Exhibition “Closing the Gaps: Twelve objects from Austria’s recognised ethnic groups” and audio guides in the six languages of the ethnic groups.
