What traces have the Festwochen left in your life? How have they influenced you? How and where does the history of the festival intersect with your own history? Which unforgettable moments in your life are Festwochen moments? Make your stories, photos, videos, or even just impressions part of this web exhibition!
You can upload a photo or video of the moment itself or a picture of an object that reminds you of it. If you don't have a photo/video, you are welcome to tell the story without uploading anything. You can also contribute someone else's stories, given that they are presented in a respectful manner and, in the case of living persons, that they have given their consent.
With roots in the democratic First Republic, and then in the Dollfuss-Schuschnigg dictatorship, the Vienna Festwochen was founded in 1951. Over the past 75 years, it has repeatedly been the focus of broad debates, for example before the occupation of the Arena areal or during the asylum debate in 2000. Details on the individual productions are also available in the festival's online archive, which will be publicly accessible from spring 2026.
