Am Freitag, den 24. Februar 2023, findet der Akademikerball in der Hofburg statt. Aufgrund der Sicherheitsvorkehrungen im Vorfeld schließt das Museum an diesem Tag um 17.00 Uhr. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt gelten Platzverbote auf dem Heldenplatz, dem Ballhausplatz, dem Michaelerplatz, dem Josefsplatz und der Augustinerstrasse bis zum Helmuth-Zilk-Platz, d.h. seitens Polizei werden keine unbefugten Personen mehr in diese Bereiche eingelassen. Das Verlassen des Museums zu diesem Zeitpunkt ist im Normalfall ungehindert möglich.
